  1. Dear Alan,
Thank you for your letter! It was nice to hear from you again!
You want to know about the system of education in Belarus. Well, I’ll do my best to answer your questions.
We can say that Belarus has developed its own system of education. Scientific and intellectual potential is the main strategic resource of Belarus. The republic guarantees its citizens the right to universal secondary education and creates means for further professional education. It tries to pay much attention to common human values, developing independent critical thinking instead of simple perception of information.
In Belarus there are 4 stages of education: preschool education, primary school education, secondary school education, and higher education. Primary and secondary school education is compulsory. All in all it last 11 years. Children come to school at the age of 6 or 7. School year begins on September 1st and ends at the end of May. It’s divided into 4 terms. At the end of each term pupils have holidays.
The basic goal of school is to provide pupils with knowledge of particular subjects: Russian and Belarusian Language and Literature, Maths, a foreign language, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, History, Geography.
After the 9th form pupils can either enter a college or lyceum or continue education at school. To receive the certificate of Secondary Education pupils have to take 4 compulsory exams in Russian or Belarusian Language, Mathematics, History of Belarus and Foreign Language. After graduation from secondary school pupils usually take part in the Centralized Testing the results of which afford them to enter a higher educational establishment or to get a profession at college.
Well, got to go now. Drop me a line when you are free.
    Your friend,
    Vadim.

Education in Belarus is free at all levels except higher education.Pre-school education in Belarus takes place in kindergartens and is optional. Children go to fist grade at the age of 6.Basic education from grades 1 to 9 is compulsory. At 15 students graduate from grade 9 and after passing exams continue to study at school or enter lyceum or start vocational training. At the age of 17 students who stayed in school until grade 11 take exams and then enter universities. At the university we can study both for free and on paid basis it all depends on our capabilities and abilities. The course lasts mainly 4 years and also the student can choose a full-time or part-rime form of study. Only full-time students can receive the scholarship.

  4. Dear,Alan
I want to tell you about education in Belarus.Okey,I will probably start.

Belarusian education is well-appreciated and valued in the world so many foreign students want to receive training there. The educational system of the country is rather developed and comprises of pre-school, school and further education. Almost 70% of children start attending nursery before going to school. This stage is not compulsory, but is recommended.School education starts at the age of 6 and lasts for about ten years. This education is compulsory and children have to follow basic curriculum. When the secondary school is over, children receive a certificate of general education completion. At the age of 15 they are free to choose their further education. Some wish to serve in the military or join the workforce. Others continue studying at vocational schools or go for a higher education. There are two official languages in Belarusian system of education: Russian and Belarusian. There are over 50 Higher Education institutions throughout the country. Most of them are state-owned. Higher education is considered to be prestigious due to its high quality and affordability. That’s why most teenagers wish to continue studies after they finish school. The courses usually run for five years and provided either full-time or by correspondence. Gifted students have a chance to receive a scholarship or grant.Vocational schools are another post-school option. They offer refresher courses and retraining opportunities, which last for three years. The most venerable institution in the country is, of course, the Belarusian State University.
    Good luck,my friend (With love,Danya)

  5. Dear Alan.
Thank you for the question. I told you about system of education in belarus.
Firstly I tell you about schools. There are mixed sex schools in Belarus. Also a lot of schools are free.
Secondary I told you about education. Education in Belarus is devided into 4 parts: pre-school, general, secondary and higher education. If I talk about my opinion, I am not happy with the education system in Belarus. In my opinion we did too much unnececary information. I want to know how to start a business, but instead teachers talk about derivatives. Yes, some information is useful: for example English of russian languages. I think that system of education needs to be change.
I will be glad to hear about you again. Bye!
